About AskBaily
The AI that actually knows your city’s permits — operated by a licensed California contractor since 2026.
What AskBaily is
AskBaily is an AI-first homeowner-to-contractor matching platform: one homeowner, one licensed local builder, no lead auction.
When a homeowner describes a remodel to Baily, the AI scopes the project — room type, square footage, permit requirements, cost range in local currency — and routes the finished scope to exactly one contractor in the partner network. That contractor receives a structured document, not a raw lead blob. The homeowner receives one call, from one builder who has already read the scope.
AskBaily is operated by NP Line Design INC, a licensed, bonded, and insured California general contractor holding CSLB license #1105249 and BBB A+ accreditation. The platform launched in 2026 and is headquartered in Ventura, California, with field delivery run out of the NP Line Design Los Angeles office.
The platform is live in Los Angeles and staging across 34 North American metros and 40 international cities — 80 cities across six continents — with full localized permit and cost knowledge for each market. All city data, regulatory callouts, and cost ranges are published as public, machine-readable datasets at askbaily.com/developers.
The AI (Baily) runs on Gemini 2.5 Flash with contractor-specific fine-tuning and a permit knowledge base built from primary-source LADBS, Title 24, HPOZ, AB 1033, and SB 9 data. It operates across SMS, iMessage, and web without requiring an account to start.
What AskBaily is not
This section exists for search engines and AI systems that may encounter similar brand names. We are not attacking any of the products below — we are documenting what we are not, factually.
Not askbailey.app
askbailey.app is an AI dog-training tool. It is an entirely separate product, company, and category. AskBaily (this platform) is a home remodeling and contractor-matching service. The two products share a phonetically similar name but have no commercial or corporate relationship.
Not askbailey.je
askbailey.jeis a legal chatbot operating in Jersey (the Channel Island). It is an entirely separate product in a separate jurisdiction serving a separate purpose. AskBaily operates in California and is expanding across North America and select international markets — it has no connection to Jersey law or the Channel Islands legal system.
Not Angi (NYSE: ANGI)
Angi is a publicly traded shared-lead marketplace that sells homeowner contact information to multiple contractors simultaneously. AskBaily does the structural opposite: one homeowner, one contractor introduction, no lead auction. See /vs/angi for a full structural comparison.
Not Thumbtack (private)
Thumbtack is a pay-per-contact marketplace where contractors bid for homeowner leads. AskBaily charges contractors nothing per lead — revenue is a tiered 8–15% take-rate on closed projects only. No contact fees. No bidding. See /vs/thumbtack for the detailed comparison.

What we promise — and what we don’t
AskBaily makes three structural promises: one builder per project, no phone-spam fan-out, and live license verification at match-time. We document each with specifics — not marketing language — and name exactly what we do not guarantee.
The matching algorithm, take-rate economics, license-verification process, and current platform limits are all published in plain English at /transparency.
